Firefox is somewhat of an opposite of Opera. When you’ve downloaded and installed this browser, you will find a piece of software doing little more than browsing the net. You’ve got a bookmark manager alright, a password manager, but there’s no email client. Firefox is what you call a ‘slim’ browser initially focusing on one single task: to browse the net.

This freeware has its origin as an ersatz, a replacement for MS Paint. The features now entitle it to be classified as advanced image and photo editor. The interface is simple, intuitive, and impressive. It presents the pics you’re editing in tabs that display a thumbnail preview of the image.

The average user will find its handling very easy. The graphical interface has been designed well and offers you an intuitive choice of the jobs at hand. CDBurnerXP will write on CD-R/CD-RW/DVD+R/DVD-R/DVD+RW/DVD-RW/DVD-RAM/BD/HD-DVD, including double layer mediums, so if your hardware is in the long list of compatible drives, you will now into Burner’s heaven.
If for some reason EAC is not for you, then Audiograbber is an excellent alternative. It will very comfortably rip your Audio CDs into the usual formats (MP3, OGG, WAV,...) The graphical user interface (GUI) is out of the textbook – no riddles to solve – and guides you clearly through the process of ripping Audio Files.
Although not our personal favourite, it is a must on every PC. The optics will remind you of an old version of the Windows Media Player. The codecs list is long, and the good thing about it is, you don’t have to memorize it. This free media player plays almost everything apart from mouldy toast.
