This of course is a slightly humours view upon the matter, the real problem being:
- How do I find large files?
- What is using up disk space?
- Which files can I delete safely?
The tool to provide these answers is a disk space analyzer. It scans your storage media and then displays the space used by folders and files, usually as a pie or bar chart, giving you the percentage of the total disk space occupied, the actual size, and the number of files. Thus you can easily find the biggest files on your hard drive and decide, if you want to get rid of it – and if it is a good idea to do so in the first place.
There are three classical choices in this category – and one that deserves mentioning.
