PC Inspector File Recovery

PC Inspector File Recovery recovers data from FAT or NTFS file systems. Apart from rescuing data that has been deleted, or lost by format, the software also finds lost partitions.

The program may seem a little difficult to use showing many options when it is started, but the help file of the program provides a very good tutorial. We recommend reading this tutorial before you attempt data recovery.

When the program is started, it will ask to select the language. Thereafter the option screen lets you choose...

  • Recovering files that were deleted.
  • Recovering lost data caused by system crash, or formatting.
  • Recover a lost drive.

A little confusion:

The three option buttons you will find on the left, the right side of the window shows the steps to be performed next to each button. Beware, this is only a description - you can't "check" any of them! Although they look like radio buttons - unfortunately so - they're simply small circles without any functionality!

If you choose to recover files that were deleted, the program will scan for drives, and present you with the list. Choose the logical drive, and click the green check mark button, and a list of files will be displayed. Information regarding the files show Name, Size, Date Modified, Condition, and Type of file. Select the files you want to recover, and select the location to save the file. Remember, not to save the files to the hard drive, from which you want to recover files.

For other options, like recovering lost data, and/or recovering lost drive, consult the tutorial of the program. The steps are self-explanatory.
