Opera

Opera is one of the most secure and fastest browsers you can find and a very good choice for beginners as it comes with a wealth of inbuilt features, so it hardly needs any adjustments; it is almost an all-in-one-solution: the browser of course with tabs, a password manager, bookmarks and bookmark manager, a “revolutionary” email-client, an RSS-reader, a chat-client, a Bit Torrent-client, a note book, a pop-up-blocker and a phishing-filter. If you don’t like the looks of it, you find hundreds of skins to choose from.

If you use Opera on your cell phone or on different computers with different operating systems, the Synchronize feature will help you to always use the ‘same’ browser: bookmarks, history, speed dial and even notes are synchronized across all platforms. I find this especially useful when working under Linux and going back to XP.

There’s a minor drawback: in the World Wide Web you will still – once in a while – find a website Opera will not render correctly, and some websites will not accept it and ask you to switch to a modern browser. A rare incident though.

Opera is what you call a browser suite, a combination of several modules that work out of the box immediately. If you want to hit a bunch of birds with one stone, Opera is the solution.
