Mozilla Firefox

Firefox is somewhat of an opposite of Opera. When you’ve downloaded and installed this browser, you will find a piece of software doing little more than browsing the net. You’ve got a bookmark manager alright, a password manager, but there’s no email client. Firefox is what you call a ‘slim’ browser initially focusing on one single task: to browse the net.

You need more? OK! Customize Firefox. There is a humongous amount of extensions for your future favourite browser. You want to have a chat client, an email client, bookmark enhancements, social web, download manager, password manager, or security enhancements? You got it. Firefox integrates via extensions web services like del.icio.us, Google, YaHoo, YouTube etc. etc. The list of things you can do is sheer endless and of course includes themes (skins) to change the appearance.

This very big and great advantage of Firefox also is its main weakness. You have to know what you want. To fully appreciate its power you benefit from a basic experience with the internet, which of course you can gather using the slim browser.

If you want to compose a browsing tool defined exactly by your needs and wishes, Firefox is for you.
